Do you need a visa?

 

Required by all but the following:
- EU nationals.
- Nationals of Austria, Belgium, Croatia, Finland, Liechtenstein, Luxembourg, Malta, Monaco, Netherlands, San Marino, Slovenia, Sweden and Switzerland.
- Nationals of the following countries for stays of 90 days or less Andorra, Argentina, Australia, Bolivia, Brazil, Brunei, Bulgaria, Canada, Costa Rica, Croatia, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Ecuador, El Salvador, Estonia, Guatemala, Honduras, Hungary, Israel, Japan, Latvia, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Malaysia, Malta, Mexico, Monaco, New Zealand, Nicaragua, Panama, Paraguay, Poland, Romania, San Marino, Singapore, Slovakia, Slovenia, South Korea, Switzerland, USA, Uruguay, Vatican City, Venezuela.

All visitors must carry a passport valid for at least 3 months beyond their period of stay except EU nationals and nationals of Austria, Belgium, Croatia, Finland, Liechtenstein, Luxembourg, Malta, Monaco, Netherlands, San Marino, Slovenia, Sweden and Switzerland who may enter with their national ID card

  30 Euros approximately

Validity of visa

  Short-stay - valid for 6 months from the date of issue for stays of up to 90 days.

Transit - valid for a maximum of 5 days from the day of arrival.

Visas cannot be extended and a new application must be made upon the expiration of the existing visa.

Documents needed

 

Only available for your local consulate

- a fully completed visa application form;
- a passport bearing the signature of the holder valid not less than three months beyond the intended period of stay, with a blank page available on which the visa can be affixed;
- one recent passport-size photograph in color;
- proof of employment letter from the applicant's employer indicating the applicant's position in the company;
- proof of a roundtrip air ticket and hotel reservations in Italy, or letter of invitation to stay with family or friends resident in Italy;
- proof of funds as evidenced by the applicant's most recent bank statements on an official bank form or letterhead;
- applicants under 18 years of age require an original copy of the declaration of consent written by either both parents or by his/her legal guardians.
