Visas Chile

Do you need a visa?

 

This information can change frequently please check with your local consulate before travel to verify the most up to date information.

A visa is required by all except the following:
- Nationals of EU countries , Antigua & Barbuda, Argentina, Australia, Bahamas, Barbados, Belize, Bolivia, Brazil, Canada , Colombia, Croatia, Czech Republic, Dominican Republic, Ecuador, El Salvador, Fiji, Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia, Grenada, Guatemala, Hungary, Iceland, Israel, Jamaica, Japan, Liechtenstein, Macau, Malaysia, Malta, Mexico, Monaco, Morocco, New Zealand, Nicaragua, Norway, Panama, Paraguay, Poland, St Kitts & Nevis, St Lucia, San Marino, Slovenia, South Africa, Surinam, Switzerland, Tonga, Tunisia, Turkey, Tuvalu, Uruguay, USA, Vatican City, Venezuela and Yugoslavia (Serbia and Montenegro) for a stay of up to 90 days
- Nationals of Peru and Greece for a stay of up to 60 days
- Nationals of Costa Rica, Honduras, Indonesia, Singapore and Zimbabwe for a stay of up to 30 days
- Transit passengers who hold an onward ticket and do not leave the airport lounge
*** An entry fee will be charged to all citizens of Australia, Canada and the USA.
Australian citizens will be charged $30 on arrival
USA citizens will be charged $45 on arrival
Canadian citizens will be charged $55 on arrival

All fees paid in cash.


All visitors must carry a passport valid for at least 6 months except:

- Nationals of Argentina, Brazil, Colombia, Paraguay and Uruguay. They can enter with a special identity card but cannot be entering for commercial reasons or to study.

Time required to issue visa

 

Depending on how and where you apply it can take up to 7 days

Cost of the visa

  Varies depending on nationality. Can be as much as 60 Euros.

Validity of visa

  Up to 90 days depending on nationality

Documents needed

 

The necessary documents for application:
- a valid passport
- proof of residency in ones country
- a certificate of ones employer or professor
- information on Chilean contacts, in certain cases one must have a letter of invitation indicating ones civil status (for example a certificate of marriage to a Chilean)
- a declaration that certifies that one is not staying in Chile longer that is authorized and that one is not participating in activities other than that of a tourist.
